Statement of Faith
I have read and affirm ABC’s Doctrinal Statement. If there are any points with which I have questions, reservations, or disagreement, I agree to disclose and discuss them openly during my membership interview.
Should I be received into membership with such differences, I agree not to teach, promote, or advocate views contrary to the church’s Statement of Faith, but to preserve the peace, unity, and purity of the church.
Upon Departure
Should we move from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with another church where we can live out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
We will not leave ABC without first informing the elders of our intention to depart. If we leave without communicating with the elders, we understand that ABC may contact us to determine whether we have united with a sound, biblical church.
If we leave without communicating with the elders and do not unite with another church, we understand that the elders will lovingly encourage us to join a faithful church as soon as possible. If we refuse, fail to do so, or refuse to communicate with the elders, we understand that, because we remain accountable to Christ and to one another, the elders may lovingly pursue us through the process of church discipline.
We make this commitment because we believe that Christians are not called to live independently of the local church, but to persevere together in faithful fellowship, submission, accountability, and obedience to Christ.
