Jesus, Friend of Really Rotten Sinners

Jesus is a friend of sinners to be sure! But who crosses your mind when you hear that phrase? Is it the terrorist you see on the news who's responsible for killing hundreds of people? Or, perhaps it's that abortion doctor across town that you can't believe can sleep at night. When you hear that Jesus is a friend of sinners, does it ever occur to you that you're the sinner Jesus can be a friend to. When we consider that Jesus called Matthew unto Himself, we are to realize that we are no better than Matthew, the tax collector, the terrorist, or the abortion doctor. In this sermon, we see how incredibly remarkable it is that Jesus would call us His own.
